Independent variable: Independent variable is one of the types of a Variable. It is the Variable you manipulate to change the value of the dependent variable. The value of the dependant variable *depends* on the independent variable.
Dependent Variables: The dependent variable is defined as the variable whose value is based on the value of other variable in its equation. The value of dependent variable is always said to be dependent on the independent variable of math equation.
Mathematically we denote this as
where f(x) is a function formed with independent variable and y is dependent variable.

here x is independent variable and y is dependent variable.
